These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the covdbg software, covdbg.com, and the portal at app.covdbg.com, all provided by Liasoft GmbH ("we", "us"). By using them you agree to these Terms. The software itself is licensed under the [End User License Agreement](/imprint/eula/).

## Accounts

You create an account by signing in with GitHub. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in and for the project tokens your teams create. Every session and token can be ended on your profile or your team's page; do that if you think one has been exposed.

## Tiers

Use on public repositories is free. Personal use, one private repository at a time, is free for a signed-in developer. Teams buy seats. What each tier covers, and how a run is decided, is described on the [pricing page](/pricing/) and in the [Licensing FAQ](/docs/reference/licensing-faq/). We may change prices for future billing periods with notice on the pricing page; a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

## Payment and cancellation

Seats are $12 per user per month, billed monthly in advance through [Paddle](https://www.paddle.com/), our merchant of record. Paddle issues the invoice, collects payment, and handles VAT and sales tax. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your team's billing page; it ends at the close of the period you have paid for, and the free tiers stay available afterwards. If a payment fails, the seats stay in place while Paddle retries. If a subscription ends or shrinks below the seats a team holds, runs keep passing for ten days and the coverage reports are then gated until seats are bought back or members removed.

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on a first purchase, no questions asked. Write to [our team](/company/contact/#email-addresses) within 14 days of the purchase.

## Acceptable use

You may not:

* share a personal sign-in with another person, or use a project token outside the team's own automated systems;
* circumvent the license check or misrepresent a repository or a commit author to obtain a tier you are not entitled to;
* reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except where the law allows it regardless of this term;
* use the software or the services in violation of applicable law.

## Availability

The license service answers whether a run is covered; the software reuses an answer for seven days and keeps working for up to three weeks without one, so short outages do not affect you. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of the portal or the telemetry service.

## Data

What the software sends and what we keep is described on the [Data and Telemetry](/docs/reference/data-and-telemetry/) page. How we handle personal data is in the [privacy policy](/imprint/privacy/).

## Intellectual property

covdbg, the services, and everything that goes with them remain the property of Liasoft GmbH. Your license does not transfer any of it.

## Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE AND THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

## Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, LIASOFT GMBH IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR THE SERVICES. Liability for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health remains unaffected.

## Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the services for conduct that breaks these Terms or harms other users or us. You may delete your account at any time by writing to us.

## Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Germany.
